The idea to establish Amsterdam Made was created by a small group of local makers. Soon after the first steps were made there was a lot of interest in the project, which quickly garnered more than forty members. The initiative turned out to be a good fit for Amsterdam Council’s search for a business that would create and uphold a quality mark for products created or made in the metropolitan area of Amsterdam.
Foundation Amsterdam Made is the only approved certifier of the quality mark, which was established to stimulate craftmanship and the local economy.
At the Craft in Focus Festival products of several Amsterdam based craft makers will be presented and sold.
