From May 18 to May 20, 2019, the second edition of the three-day Craft in Focus Festival will transform building 1 of Industry City in Brooklyn into an open workspace. We present hands-on workshops, master classes and demonstrations, all focusing on master craftsmanship.
Guests of all ages can look forward to workshops including, but not limited to: calligraffiti by Dutch artist Daan Wille, airbrush painting by Dutch expert Marissa Oosterlee, eco-dyeing by textile institute HAWAR from the Netherlands, basketry by master Esmé Hofman, along with spoon making by Brooklyn Metal Works, stained glass by Glass Art of Brooklyn, suminagashi by Textile Arts Center, robot making and tiny house building for children by KokoNYC, creative crafts with PROJECT K!D, and much more.
Entrance is free, ticket sale for workshops and master classes starts May 1 through the festival website.

The Craft in Focus Festival 2015 has been nominated for the Golden C award as ‘one of the top five unmissable cultural events of 2015’. Nominated projects are chosen for their innovative approach, impact and inspiration. The jury is specifically interested in visionary endeavors that both influence the cultural sector at large, and have a deeply positive impact on the creative development of the individual participant.
